New Members Meeting

Would you like to be involved in organising the 2018 Leeds Queer Film Festival?

Leeds Queer Film Festival started in 2005 and is organised by a collective of unpaid volunteers. We are looking for new people to join us to help plan and run the festival which is taking place from Friday 23rd March to Sunday 25th March.

There are lots of aspects to creating the festival such as:

  • Watching films and programming

  • Arranging speakers and workshops

  • Venue liaison

  • Social media

  • Website

  • Marketing

  • Finances

  • Programme/publicity design

  • Party planning

  • Guest liaison

  • Volunteer co-ordinating

  • Funding applications

  • Baking cakes!

Being a part of the festival team is a great opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends, watch loads of films and create an amazing, friendly event for the local queer community. To organise the festival we need people who are committed to regularly attending meetings (generally held once a fortnight in central Leeds on an evening) and have a love of queer cinema!

If you are interested in being part of the collective please have a look at our website, in particular Our Aims.

Please complete THIS FORM and attend the new members meeting on Wednesday 20th September at 6pm held at Live Art Bistro*

Please let us know in advance if you have any specific access needs, or for any other questions: leedsqueerfilmfestival@gmail.com

*Live Art Bistro is located at 1-2 Regent Street, Leeds LS2 7QA (opposite Maplin). The venue is wheelchair accessible with a single step entrance with ramp. Unfortunately, on this occasion the accessible toilet is not available.
