Age of Consent Access Information

If you have any specific needs you would like to discuss, please email us on leedqueerfilmfestival@gmail.com or DM us on Instagram.

Venue Location

The Age of Consent will all take place at Hyde Park Book Club

Hyde Park Book Club has two entrances, which are approximately 200m apart.

The main entrance for the event will be across from 23 Victoria RoadPlease use this entrance. There is step-free access and this is where our ticket desk will be, so it will really help with crowd management if everyone comes through the same entrance.

Physical space

The Age of Consent will be happening in the lower floor of Hyde Park Book Club. There is a bar available on that level and we can assist with getting orders from the upper bar if needed.

There will be an accessible portable toilet outside the Victoria Road entrance. There is also a wheelchair accessible loo on the top floor of HPBC. There is no lift between the two floors.

Please be aware that there is some uneven flooring in the event space, but HPBC staff assure us that wheelchair users normally do not have any issues.

Infection safety

Air circulation in the event space at Hyde Park Book Club is limited. We will have air quality monitors in the space so you can make judgments about the air quality.

Masks will be optional and a supply of free FFP2 masks will be available. There is a large outdoor space, so we'll be hoping for good weather to get some fresh air in between films!

Please don’t come to the festival if you have any viral symptoms, even if you’re testing negative for COVID.

Content notes

Our printed programme has detailed content notes for all films. We are always trying to improve the detail we provide, so please feel free to let us know if we missed something!

Please note that “sex” on its own only refers to consensual sex. Coercion or violation of consent is noted separately and specifically.

If you have any concerns about a specific film, please get in touch with us and we can try to give more detailed guidance.

D/deaf access

All films will be screened with English subtitles.

BSL interpretation for the 4:00pm panel available on request - please get in touch by 14 March to discuss: leedsqueerfilmfestival@gmail.com
